Meet The Board

Jay Hutchins serves as the President of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce Board, returning for a second term after a 13-year hiatus. During his previous tenure, Jay was part of the team that created and launched the first-ever Gloucester Wine Festival event. He loves working with a team that strives to support the business community in Gloucester. Jay is the GM and 4th generation of Brent and Becky's. Beyond his Chamber involvement, he serves as Vice President on the Board for Flat Iron Crossroads and as 2nd Vice President of the American Daffodil Society. We’re thrilled to have Jay’s experience, passion, and commitment on our team! 

Coming soon to the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce is a person who will fill the vacant seat of Vice President. This person will fill in as President in the absence of the President in all meetings. You know, in case the President gets trampled by a pack of flaming, acid spitting hyenas, wins America's Got Reasonable Talent, decides to go live on a tropical island (which he would REALLY love), or wins the lottery... and buys an island.

The Vice-President must lead through inspiration, delegation, and being in the trenches as part of the team. We will meet them soon!

We’re thrilled to introduce Sarah Narron, Interim Treasurer of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce!

Sarah is the owner of Freedom Bookkeeper, LLC. Her organizational skills and expertise in managing "the books" has been a major benefit to the Chamber! Typically the bookkeepr and Treasurer must be separate individuals, but while we look for a new Treasurer, she has offered to temporarily help out in that position, and we thank her!

Today, we’re thrilled to introduce Pam, the new Secretary of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce!

Pam is the owner of Vine Travel, where she offers personalized travel planning services, and Vine Images, a business dedicated to empowering young women through innovative course content.

As an active community partner with the Girl Scouts, Pam is passionate about leadership and community involvement. She’s excited to bring her dedication and creativity to help small businesses thrive in our community.

This year, we welcome Adam Bingman to our Board! He has worked at UPMC for over 10 years. He started out as a diagnostic technologist and have worked my way to Manager of Imaging. He has been in this role for 4 years. He is currently in a Masters Pprogram at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. I am looking forward to advancing my career.

We’re thrilled to have Danette Stout with the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce!

With over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing at Xtra 99.1 FM, Danette has built strong connections throughout Gloucester County. Her passion for supporting local businesses and organizations, coupled with her expertise in communication and community engagement, makes her an invaluable asset to our Chamber.

Danette’s commitment doesn’t stop there—she also serves on the board of the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic, where she continues her work in making a positive impact in the community.

In her free time, you’ll find Danette enjoying quality time with family and friends or relaxing at the beach. A proud resident of Gloucester County, Danette is dedicated to helping businesses thrive and fostering collaboration to make our community an even better place to live and work.

We are happy to introduce you to Deanna Murphy! Deanna is Store Manager of Nuttall's Store in Ware Neck. She oversees all "front of the house" operations including all of the grocery store items, wine, beer, gifts, clothing and souvenirs. You will most likely see her smiling face behind the counter. 

Deanna brings joy and smiles everywhere she goes! The Chamber of Commerce is lucky to have here as part of this team!

Elizabeth Blackney is helping put Gloucester on the map as a premier arts destination in Virginia and beyond as Executive Director of the Cook Foundation and Founding Director of the Fine Arts Museum of Gloucester. She has been instrumental in launching and leading efforts to elevate the arts in our region. Since the museum’s opening in 2023, she has transformed Gloucester’s annual Arts Festival into one of the most prestigious cultural events on the East Coast drawing international artist and thousands of visitors each year. A Virginia resident for over 30 years and chair of the Gloucester Main Street Association, Elizabeth brings deep experience in strategic communications including her work on Dr Dennis Mukwege's Nobel Peace Prize campaign in 2018. Her community driven leadership is creating lasting economic impact strengthening Gloucester's identity as an arts and cultural hub while preserving its rural charm.

It is this level of experience, leadership, and drive that is a perfect fit for our Board!

Say hello to Marsha Weatherwax, agency owner of Weatherwax Insurance Agency and your local Allstate agent for the past 15 years!

Marsha specializes in taking the work out of insurance, offering expertise in auto, home, RVs, boats, and commercial insurance. Beyond her professional achievements, she is deeply committed to our community, serving on nonprofit boards including the Salvation Army, DeGoode Foundation, and of course the Gloucester Chamber of Commerce.

Her passion? Making Gloucester a better place to live!
